Like Laugh In, the clothing, furnishings, and vocabulary do not make it timeless. Today we begin with Love, American Style. For the next five weeks, I’m taking a look at each of the shows that made this schedule so enjoyable. Watching an episode of The Partridge Family today makes me feel 10 again. While the boys were divided between Marcia Brady and Laurie Partridge, every girl of that age had was in love with Keith Partridge. Sitting through an entire evening of shows was almost unheard of back then, but we binge watched every Friday night. Anyone who was born in the late 1950s or early 1960s can remember sitting down in front of the television at 7 pm (central time) for the Brady Bunch and staying put through The Partridge Family, Room 222, The Odd Couple, and Love, American Style. Nearing two decades documenting her surroundings from behind her lens, Rebecca finds joy in capturing moments that can never be recreated. Upon graduating, Rebecca moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she was able to explore a number of opportunities that touched on each of her avenues of attention.Īfter years of honing her talents in the city, Rebecca moved once again to Archbald, Pennsylvania, in order to be closer to family and the environs that first sparked her artistic pursuits. Rebecca’s focus continued to expand after high school via her studies at the State University of New York Brockport campus, where she received degrees in visual communications and broadcast production. It was her grandmother’s painting, though, that served as her true inspiration, beginning at a young age and continuing on to this day. Her fascination with the medium was first piqued at the age of twelve when she discovered her grandfather’s Nikon 35mm. Rebecca Schaffer is a photographer currently residing in Archbald, Pennsylvania. She is currently employed by Allied Services Integrated Health System in their Corporate office. Jennifer attended Marywood University where she received a BS Degree in Accounting she graduated in 1999. She loves taking creative pictures and sharing them with the world. This year (2017) she became a founding member of a much smaller photography club, Focus NEPA. Participating in workshops and outings is where she fine tuned her skills. In 2013, she joined her first photography club, NEPA Shutterbugs. She won 1st place in the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forest Foundation’s "Take Five" contest in 2012 and most recently placed second in the Pennsylvania Colors of Nature contest, also sponsored by the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forest Foundation, in September 2017. She has participated in 8 "First Friday Scranton" events at different venues, her works were displayed at Wayne Bank in 2014 for an entire year. In 2012 she started showing her work locally. Starting in 2010, she began taking nature walks and taking photos.
